Ella Rumpf
Actor
Born in 1995 in Paris, France, she grew up bilingually with German and French in Zurich. She studied at the Giles Foreman Centre for Acting in London and made her screen debut in SUMMER OUTSIDE (2012). For her role as Ali in Simon Jaquemet's award-winning feature-length film WAR (2014), she was nominated for the Swiss Film Award. This was followed by leading roles in TIGER GIRL (2017) which premiered at the Berlinale and GRAVE (2016) by Julia Ducournau – a worldwide festival and critic’s favourite which was launched in Cannes. She was selected as Révélation (Discovery) for her role in GRAVE for the César 2018. She was cast in SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL (2019) by Guillaume de Fontenay and received the EFP Shooting Stars Award 2020 at the Berlinale. She has appeared in series such as SUCCESSION (2018) and TOKYO VICE (2022) and starred in main roles in the Netflix series FREUD (2020) and the feature SOUL OF A BEAST (2021) by Lorenz Merz. NORTHERN COMFORT (2023) premiered at SXSW and MARGUERITE'S THEOREM (2023) was launched in Cannes' Official Selection. Ella Rumpf was selected as Révélation for the Césars 2023 for a second time.
