The Swiss Film Academy has voted and sent 24 films in 13 categories into the race for a Quartz. SOUL OF A BEAST by Lorenz Merz sets a new record and is nominated eight times for the Swiss Film Award 2022. With six nominations, LA MIF by Frédéric Baillif also has a considerable number of awards within reach.

The nominees for the Swiss Film Award were announced at the Night of Nominations on January 24 at the Solothurn Film Festival. The members of the Swiss Film Academy chose their favourites from 96 films in 13 categories. There are 23 films in the running. They will all receive nomination money from the Federal Office of Culture.

In a further round of voting, the Film Academy will select a winner per category from the nominated films by the end of March. From 21 to 27 March 2022, the Cinémas du Grütli in Geneva and the Filmpodium Zurich will screen all the nominated films. The Swiss Film Awards ceremony will take place on Friday, March 25, 2022 in Zurich.

The award ceremony is organised by the Federal Office of Culture (FOC) with its partners SRG SSR and the Association "Quartz" Genève Zurich, in collaboration with SWISS FILMS, the Swiss Film Academy and the Solothurn Film Festival.
