Building contacts and standing in the spotlight: we support Swiss filmmakers who qualify for prestigious awards.
Award Support is our way of championing the participation of Swiss films and official co-productions at selected international award ceremonies – including the Academy Awards and various European film awards.
How can I apply for Award Support?
You'll find a list of eligible award events, details of the application procedure and the financial amounts that can be awarded in the "Practical guide" (in German and French).
Notes on eligibility for support:
- Production companies and directors who own the rights to the film and whose registered office or domicile is in Switzerland are eligible to apply for support
- Contributions are made towards promotional campaigns, registration fees and travel expenses
- Contributions may also be made towards participation in competitions by minority co-productions
- Contributions towards promotional activities can be made as soon as eligibility for support is confirmed
Academy Awards: Selection procedure for the Swiss submission
The Federal Office of Culture (FOC) has tasked SWISS FILMS with carrying out the selection procedure for the Swiss submission in the "International Feature Film" category. It is responsible for ensuring compliance with the guidelines drawn up by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). We advise, accompany and support the promotional campaign for the chosen film.
