Festival Support

We are committed to promoting the presence of Swiss films and filmmakers at the major international festivals.

Through its Festival Support, SWISS FILMS supports the participation of films, filmmakers as well as extended reality (XR) at international film festivals. We contribute to the promotion and travel costs and/or, for select festival sections, to the costs of subtitling, thus enabling producers and directors to gain more visibility and enhance their opportunities on the global market.

How can I apply for Festival Support?

You can find out everything you need to know about the application procedure and the eligible costs in the "Practical guides" below (German and French only). The festivals and sections for which a film must be selected are listed in the appendix of the respective PDF. Filmmakers who own the rights to the film or XR project and whose registered office or domicile is in Switzerland are eligible to apply for support.

If your film / XR project has been invited to a festival section on our list, please fill in the application form and send it to us by mail no later than 2 weeks before the start of the festival to support@swissfilms.ch.

Corona support measures:

If it is not possible to physically attend the festival due to the corona pandemic, applications may be submitted for Festival Support for a digital promotion campaign.
