Emerging filmmakers from Romandy at IndieLisboa Festival
The 9th IndieLisboa International Independent Film Festival in Lisbon will showcase the emerging generation of filmmakers from the Romandy (April 26-May 6, 2012).

The festival will also take a closer look at Helvetic animation filmmaking with the two short films screened in the IndieJunior competition: “Bon voyage” by Fabio Friedli and “Der grosse Bruder” by Jesús Pérez and Elisabeth Hüttermann. A special programme comprised of eight student films from ECAL in Lausanne rounds off this film programme, compiled in close collaboration with SWISS FILMS. Marcel Müller, responsible for the film promotion agency in Geneva, will participate in a panel discussion, together with the “Bande à Part” directors Lionel Baier, Ursula Meier and two graduates of ECAL Tristan Aymon and Jan Czarlewski, highlighting the new generation of Swiss filmmakers and the impetus that “Bande à Part Films” has lent to it at home and abroad. In addition, Ariel Schweitzer, film critic for “Cahiers du Cinéma,” will moderate a panel discussion held in conjunction with the festival on May 1.
The following fiction films films, among others, comprise the retrospective devoted to the directors of the “Bande à Part Films” collective: “Garçon Stupide” (2004), “Comme des voleurs” (2006) and “Un autre homme» (2008) by Lionel Baier; “Des épaules solides” (2002) and “Sister” (2012) by Ursula Meier; “Mon frère se marie” (2006) by Jean-Stéphane Bron; and “Complices” (2009) by Frédéric Mermoud.
