She was born in 1987 on the Baltic Sea (Germany) and grew up in Switzerland. It was clear to her early on that both the photographic image and the cinematic moving image, and thus the work behind the camera, would form the common thread of her professional path. She has been working in the film industry since 2009 and studied until 2013 in the Bachelor of Arts in Film at the ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts). After working as a camera assistant for numerous feature films, series and TV films nationally and internationally, Meret Madörin completed a Master in Cinematography at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF (D) and successfully graduated with an M.F.A.
In 2020, she was nominated for the Michael Ballhaus Prize at the First Steps Award with the award-winning short fiction film TRADING HAPPINESS by Duc Ngô Ng?c. The award-winning cinema documentary DREI FRAUEN by Maksym Melnyk celebrated its world premiere at Dok Leipzig in 2022, followed by numerous film festivals and awards. The six-part series MADE IN GERMANY (Studio Zentral, ARD Degeto) and the feature documentary EXILE NEVER ENDS by Bahar Bektas (Pink Shadow Films) are currently being screened at festivals.
