The 28th International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand – the most important short film event worldwide, taking place from January 27 to February 4 – presents three Swiss short films in the festival competition. “Terra Incognita” by Peter Volkart and “Haru Ichiban” by Aya Domenig will be shown in the international competition, while “Wir sind dir true” (We are faithful to you) by Michael Koch will participate in the 5th edition of the “Compétition Labo” section focusing on films influenced by new digital technologies in both style and expression.
“Terra Incognita” has already received several awards and has had an impressive festival tour. After Clermont-Ferrand, the film will be featured in Rotterdam and at the Manchester International Short Film Festival. It has also been nominated for the 2006 Méliès d’Or for Best Short Film by the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation, as well as for the 2006 Swiss Film Prize. “Wir sind dir true” has been shown at the Hof International Film Festival and won the award for Best Swiss Short Film at the 2005 International Short Film Festival Winterthur.
Along with the festival, the 21st Marché du Film Court film market will be taking place with 2,800 international filmmakers in attendance.
