28.07.2006
The BrixenART film festival, taking place for the second time in the South Tirolian city of Brixen from July 31 to August 5, 2006, will present three Swiss art films among the approximately 30 selected works: “Der Mann von Schwarz und Weiss: Adrian Frutiger/The Man of Black and White: Adrian Frutiger” by Christine Copp and Christoph Fruttiger, “Sam Gabai. Presenze” by Villi Hermann, and “Mosaici di Piazza Armerina” by Adriano Kestenholz. For the first time at this festival, two separate juries will award prizes for best documentary, best cinematography, and best décor.
“The Man of Black and White” (2004, 45 minutes) portrays the Swiss graphic artist Adrian Frutiger, whose font families Méridien, Univers and Frutiger have become world-famous. “Sam Gabai. Presenze” (2005, 27 minutes) is dedicated to the painter Gabai, who expresses his creativity in a mountain valley in the southernmost corner of Switzerland. The documentary film “Mosaici di Piazza Armerina" (2005, 20 minutes) which consists solely of music and images, is a revival of the famous Late Roman mosaic of the Piazza Armerina in Sicily.
