Swiss films at International Film Festival “Molodist” in Kiev

Ten Swiss film productions will be presented at the 38th International Film Festival “Molodist” in Kiev, which runs in the Ukrainian capital city from October 18-26, 2008. “Salt Of This Sea” by Palestinian director Annemarie Jacir will be screened in the international competition. The film, which has already been honoured with awards, was co-produced by Thelma Film in Zurich. The award-winning Swiss film production “René” by Tobias Nölle and Ivana Lalovic’s “Ich träume nicht auf Deutsch” will both be screened in the international short film competition.
The following documentary films will be screened in the “Cinema against Totalitarianism” section: “Letter To Anna” by Eric Bergkraut, and Arto Halonen’s film “Shadow Of The Holy Book”, co-produced by Dschoint Ventschr. Marina Rosset, from Waadtland, will present her animation film “La main de l’ours” in the student competition; also presented in this section is Lisa Blatter’s short film “Nachglühen”. Alberto Meroni’s short film “Ombre” will be presented in the long night of European short films. The animation film “Tôt ou tard” by Jadwiga Kowalska will be screened in the festival’s “Krok” program and Alexander Meyer’s “Chyenne” will be presented by the festival’s “Signes de nuit”.
The renowned International Film Festival “Molodist”, a major platform for professional contacts, is the third largest festival in Eastern Europe, after those in Moscow and Carlsbad.
