“Happiness is a warm gun” – Thomas Imbach’s films in Vienna and Berlin

For the first time in Germany and Austria, a work show will be dedicated to the innovative and internationally recognized Swiss director and author Thomas Imbach. In collaboration with Navigator Film, the Votiv movie theatre in Vienna presents his films from February 22-25, 2007. The Arsenal movie theatre in Berlin features his work from March 17 – 30, 2007, and opens the series with the feature film “I Was A Swiss Banker” which recently premiered at the Berlinale.
Imbach belongs to a generation of young and experimental European filmmakers, with his films bearing an unmistaken signature. The works show, which receives supported by the promotion agency SWISS FILMS, will present the following films: “Lenz” (2006), “Happy too” (2002), “Happiness Is A Warm Gun” (2001), “Nano-Babies” (1998), “Ghetto” (1997), and “Well Done” (1994).
In addition to attending the presentation of his films, Thomas Imbach will also be teaching for two weeks on the topic of “Reality in Film and Directing” at the dffb (German Film and Television Academy, Berlin), as well as a for a day at the Linz Art University and the Vienna Film Academy.
