It is not a “making-of” documentary in the conventional sense; its focus is the flip side of the world portrayed in the fiction film. With the same penetrating gaze, irony and courage that Imbach used to probe the fantasy of activist romance, this time he takes aim at the myth of glamorous film acting. Taking us behind the scenes of the tour-de-force performances of Happiness is a Warm Gun, happy too parallels the Kelly-Bastian struggles with the struggles of actors Linda Olsansky and Herbert Fritsch.
