The documentary film “Namehaye Farsi – Persian Letters” is about my concerns as an iranian filmmaker and ethnologist regarding at my origin country, especially after the recent activities of the U.S.
in the Middle East and their threats towards Iran.
The film is a collection of impressions about my hometown Teheran. During the interviews, that build the main part of the film, I experienced very personal attitudes of the Iranians towards the U.S. – intervention. I made interviews with reform oriented and traditionalistic thinking people coming out of my nearer environment. The results are the different portraits of those people during teir daily life.
I tried to find out, if those women and men were capable to express their opinions regarding at the political matters and circumstances. At last, the interviewed persons had the possibility to send a
personal message – a persian letter- to the United States.
