Born in 1991 in Zurich, Switzerland. He found his way to the moving image by working as a film set designer. In 2018-23, he completed a BA in film with a specialisation in cinematography at the ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts) and is currently studying for a MA in documentary film directing at the ZHdK. His directorial work includes the multi-award-winning documentary film KLEMENS - AUS LIEBE ZU DEN DINGEN and ROLLSTUHLRUGBY, which premiered in Solothurn as part of the FUTURA series. In addition to his directing work, he works as a gaffer on various short and feature-length films and does the camera work for SRF documentaries, commercials and short films. Tobias Wanner tells stories in a broad spectrum between artificially staged lighting design and documentary work in the style of direct cinema.
