The 17th Vendôme Film Festival (December 5-12, 2008) will dedicate one of its five retrospectives to the Swiss-French film director Ursula Meier. She will attend the festival in central France, where her seven short and feature films will be presented. SWISS FILMS, the national film promotion agency, has provided support for this retrospective. Reto Caffi’s short film “Auf der Strecke” and Jadwiga Kowalska’s short animation film “Tôt ou tard” are among the 14 short films from eight countries in the European competition.
The following films by Ursula Meier will be screened in Vendôme: “Home”, her first feature film for the cinema, which has already recorded 40,000 admissions in the French-speaking region of Switzerland; the television film “Des épaules solides” (2002); the two documentary films “Pas les flics, pas les noirs, pas les Blancs” (2001) and “Autour de Pinget” (2000); as well as the short films “Tous à table” (2001), “Des heures sans sommeil” (1998) and “Le songe d'Isaac” (1994).
In addition, the festival will present Isabelle Favez’s short film “Circuit marine“ (2003) in the special programme featuring animation films which were commissioned by the Folimage production firm.
