Two Swiss films in the official program in Cannes

In the section “Un Certain Regard”, Switzerland is represented with two minority coproductions at the 6st Film Festival in Cannes, taking place from May 14-25, 2008: The Zurich-based film production company Thelma Film and Télévision Suisse Romande are the coproducers of “Milh Hadha Al-Bahr” (Salt Of This Sea) of the Palestinian director Annemarie Jacir, a coproduction between France, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland. Cobra Film, also based in Zurich and Swiss Broadcasting Corporation acted as coproducers of the German-Swiss-Russian production “Tulpan” by Kazakh director Sergey Dvortsevoy.
The selection of films of the 40th Quinzaine des réalisateurs and of the 47th Semaine internationale de la critique will be announced on April 26.
