Three Swiss short films at the film festival in Huesca (Spain)

The 37th Festival internacional de Cine de Huesca from 4 to 13 June 2009 will feature three Swiss short films in its competition. The fiction films “Racines” by Eileen Hofer and “Ich träume nicht auf Deutsch” by Ivana Lalovic are amongst the 43 short films in the running for the 10,000 euro “Premio Danzante” prize in the international competition. The short documentary film “Second Me” by Anna Thommen is part of the European documentary film competition featuring 24 works.
The two directors Ivana Lalovic and Anna Thommen will be in Huesca to present their films. The festival is one of the largest short film events on the Iberian peninsula. Prize money of 53,000 euro is on offer in the four competitions. This year, the festival is presenting 111 films from 42 countries. The festival’s highest award, the “Danzante” prize, also opens the door for possible nomination at the Academy Awards.
