Three Swiss films screened at Göteborg Film Festival

Three Swiss film productions will be screened at the 31st edition of the Göteborg International Film Festival, which is held in Sweden’s second largest city from January 25 to February 4, 2008. The fiction film “Comme des Voleurs” (Saga Production, Lausanne) is one of the 39 films being presented in the “Five Continents” section. Film director Lionel Baier will accompany his film at this festival, which ranks among the most important festivals in Scandinavia.
Two Swiss documentary films will also be screened: Pierre-Yves Borgeaud’s “Retour à Gorée” (CAB Production, Lausanne/DreamPixies, Vevey) will be presented in the “Music Non-Stop” section; the co-production “Staub”, by German film director Hartmut Bitomsky (Dschoint Ventschr Filmproduktion, Zurich) will be shown in the “Dokumentärt” section.
The Göteborg International Film Festival presents approximately 450 films from seventy countries to its audience every year, with ticket sales amounting to over 123,000. The Nordic Film Market – an exclusive sales platform held in conjunction with festival – will run from January 31 to February 3.
