Swiss short films win awards in Slovenia and France

The short animation film “Land of the Heads” by Claude Barras and Cédric Louis won the Audience Prize, amounting to EUR 1,000, at the 6th “Animateka” International Animation Film Festival in Ljubljana (December 7-13, 2009). Claude Barras attended the festival and accepted the award personally. The short fiction film “Un día y nada” by Lorenz Merz was honoured with the Grand Prix and the “Prix de la Jeunesse” in the European competition of the 18th Vendôme Film Festival (December 4-11). In addition, the French-Swiss coproduction “Le petit dragon” by Bruno Collet won the “Prix Cinécole”. The jury of the 32nd Rencontres Henri Langlois Festival, the international school film festival in Poitiers, presented Eileen Hofer’s short fiction film “Racines” with a Honourable Mention.
The animation film “Land of the Heads” was among the 43 films in the international competition of the “Animateka” Festival in Ljubljana. Already last year the festival audience had selected Jadwiga Kowalska’s film “Tôt out tard” for the award.
