Swiss film productions have a strong presence at the 27th Amiens International Film Festival held in Picardie, the capital city of the region of northern France, from November 9 – 18, 2007. The film “L’autre moitié” by Rolando Colla (production: Peacock, Zurich) is one of the twelve long-playing fiction films to be screened in the international competition, thus placing it in the running for the “Golden Unicorn”, amounting to 7,500 euros. The two films by Frédéric Mermoud “Rachel” and “Le créneau” (Saga Production, Lausanne), as well as “Il neige à Marakech” by Hicham Alhayat (Bord Cadre Films, Geneva), will be participating in “Jeunes auteurs d’Europe”, the short film competition.
The long-playing documentary film “Magic Radio” by Stéphanie Barbey and Luc Peter (production: Intermezzo Film, Geneva) is scheduled to be screened in the festival’s “Le monde comme il va” section. In addition, the following eight Swiss short films will be presented in a special program: “Abgekratzt” by Bernie Forster; “Amancay” by Milagros Mumenthaler; “Ana” by Virginie Alexa Andrey; “Chambre 24” by Andrew Katumba; “Dr. Strangehill” by Marcel Bächtiger; “Lost in cross” by Anthony Sabet; “Ménagerie intérieure” by Nadège de Benoit-Luthy; and “Turn” by Christina Benz.
