Swiss feature films screened at Arabian Nights in Dubai
The Swiss feature film production “Taxiphone” by Mohammed Soudani and the feature film coproduction “The Flowers Of Kirkuk” by Fariborz Kamkari (T&C Film, Zurich) will be screened on the Persian Gulf at the 7th Arabian Nights Dubai International Film Festival.

The film "Taxiphone", recent winner of the Audience Prize in Ljubljana, tells the story of a young Swiss couple travelling through the Sahara. The couple, played by Mona Petri and Pasquale Aleardi, meets other tourists when their truck breaks down: young people who dream of immigrating to Europe, children filled with hope and fantastic storytellers, one of whom is Bruno Ganz, alias Bruno Ganz, or Jean-Luc Bideau as an old coyote.
In "The Flowers Of Kirkuk" (original title Golakani Kirkuk) by Italian film director Fariborz Kamkari, who was born in Iran, is a love story set in Iraq at the end of the 1980s. A Kurdish man and an Iraqi woman work together as doctors, treating victims of the Kurdish genocide. The feature film was screened at the International Film Festival in Rome this past autumn.
The International Film festival in Dubai is a relatively young festival which has emerged as an "an influential platform for Arab filmmakers and international talent". Apart from guests and viewers, it also attracts industry professionals with its film market.
