Two Swiss documentary film productions will be screened at the 16th “It’s All True” International Documentary Film Festival in Sao Paulo (March 31 - April 14, 2011): “Impunity” by Duo Juan José Lozano and Hollman Morris; and sowie “Rio Sonata” by Georges Gachot. The festival, which ranks among the most important platforms for non-fiction film productions in Latin America, will present a total of 92 films from 29 countries.
In the film "Impunity" the Geneva-based director Juan José Lozano and Columbian journalist Hollman Morris portray the limits of the "Justicia y Paz" peace process introduced in Columbia. Family members of the victims of the paramilitary militia wait in vain for a verdict for the crimes committed with impunity over the course of many years.
With "Rio Sonata," Georges Gachot presents a moving portrait of the Brazilian singer Nana Caymmi. The film was screened last year at the international Film festivals in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. This festival marks the third time the film will be presented at a major Brazilian festival.
