Six Swiss films in Hof (Germany)

The Hof International Film Festival, an event with importance for film distribution in Germany, will take place for the 40th time from October 24 – 29, 2006. It presents the Swiss productions “Fraulein” by Andrea Staka (Production: Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich), “Grounding” by Michael Steiner and Tobias Fueter (Production: C-Films, Zurich), and “Jeune Homme” by Christoph Schaub (Production: T & C Film, Zurich). Also part of the program are the documentary film “Zum Abschied Mozart” by Christian Labhart (Production: Filmkollectiv, Zurich), which will have its theatrical release in Germany at the beginning of 2007, and “Schwarze Schafe/Black Sheep”, the second long feature film by Oliver Rihs (“Brombeerchen”).
In a retrospective on 40 years of Hof International Film Festival, its director, Heinz Badewitz, will present a dozen films, among them “Paloma” by Daniel Schmid (1974).



In addition to the award-winning feature film “Fraulein” and the 2006 Swiss movie hit “Grounding”, “Jeune Homme” celebrates its German premiere as well. The comedy “Jeune Homme”, which has sold approximately 100,000 movie tickets in Switzerland, will be released in Austria shortly. The film’s rights have also been sold to Canada, Columbia, Venezula, Spain, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
