The 32nd International Animated Film Festival in Annecy has already announced its film selection three months before the festival, which will take place from June 9 – 14, 2008. Six short animation films from Switzerland are scheduled to be screened, four of which were produced by graduate students from the Lucerne School of Art and Design: “The Bellringer” by Dustin Rees; “La main de l’ours” by Marina Rosset; “Tôt ou tard” by Jadwiga Kowalska; and “Haaf And Me In: Swing Beijing” by Oliver Aemisegger. The four films will compete in the “Graduation Films” section.
Two other Swiss animation films will be presented in the “Panorama” section: “Die Seilbahn” by Claudius Gentinetta and Frank Braun and “27 Years” by Raymond Höpflinger.
Together with the festivals in Zagreb, Hiroshima and Ottawa, the International Animated Film Festival in Annecy – founded in 1960 – ranks among the four most important animation film festivals worldwide.
