Short films at OrangeCinema open air events throughout Switzerland
17.07.2007
For the first time, several “Short Film Night” events will take place as part of the OrangeCinema and in collaboration with SWISS FILMS. The Swiss film promotion agency SWISS FILMS has put together an evening-long program of short films to be shown in Zurich, Berne, Basel, and Geneva. This is a new platform to present short films to a large audience and to provide it a taste of this genre.
A selection of best Swiss and international short films will start off the event. A total of nine exceptional and award-winning productions can be viewed, among them the refugee drama “Before Dawn” made in Hungary, which received the 2006 European Film Prize for Best Short Film. Also featured are two Oscar-winning films and several Swiss short films, such as the premiere of the animated film “Elvira” by Sabine Lattmann (Production: prêt-à-tourner).
Short films have shown to have great potential, and at the “Short Film Nights” touring five Swiss cities, the audience will be able to get an idea of this genre’s possibilities. The event allows for a combination of holiday atmosphere and of a cultural event.
