Seven Swiss films at the IndieLisboa-Festival (Portugal)

The 5th International Independent Film Festival in Lisbon, IndieLisboa, taking place from April 24 until May 4, 2008, presents the Swiss documentary “La mère” (The Mother) by Antoine Cattin & Pavel Kostomarov (prod. Les Films Hors-Champ, Lausanne) in the international competition. The film “Staub” (Dust), by Hartmut Bitomsky, coproduced by Dschoint Ventschr, will be presented in the section “Observatory”. The Swiss presence at the festival in the Portuguese capital will be completed by five Swiss short films. Four of these films will be presented in the competition “IndieJunior”.
“La mere” (The Mother), nominated for the Swiss Film Prize 2008 is currently programmed at the Festival in Nyon in the section “Regards Neufs” and is one of twelve films in the international competition in Lisbon. The three animation films by students at the “Hochschule für Kunst und Design” in Luzern, entitled “Botteoubateau” (Bottoobahtoh) by Marina Rosset, “Tôt ou Tard”, by Jadwiga Kowalska and “The Bellringer” by Dustin Rees as well as “Punkt & Striche …”, by Jésus Pérez, addressed especially to children, will be presented at the competition IndieJunior. The short film “Avant le petit déjeuner”, directed in 1995 by Christi Puiu at the “Hochschule für Kunst und Design” in Geneva, will be presented in the series “Nouveau Cinéma roumain”.
IndieLisboa, still a newcomer in the European festival-landscape, focuses upon independent and international films, regardless of the length and genre. For the main competition exclusively first or second works are approved.
