“Palestine/Israël: regards par neuters”: Swiss films and directors in Paris

14.11.2005

A program featuring 21 films by Swiss directors produced between 1970 and 2005 will be shown at the L’Entrepôt movie theatre and at the Swiss Cultural Center in Paris. The film selection represents the views of filmmakers from Switzerland - a country that has lived in peace for the past 150 years - on a world region that has been confronted by violence and war for many years.
On Wednesday, November 16, a discussion forum themed “Engaged cinema – Useful cinema” and moderated by journalist Isabelle Regnier (Le Monde), will take place at the L’Entrepôt movie theatre, following the screening of “L’Accord” by Nicolas Wadimoff and Béatrice Guelpa. The film is about the courage and personal journey of some of the individuals who signed the “Geneva Initiative”. In attendance are: movie directors Nicolas Wadimoff, Francis Reusser (“Biladi, une révolution”), Edna Politi (“Comme la mer et ses vagues”, “Anou Banou ou les filles de l’utopie”), and Samir (“Forget Baghdad”).

This event was organized with the support of SWISS FILMS and the Swiss State Department.
