Outstanding success for “Elisabeth Kübler-Ross” in Swiss movie theatres

50,000 moviegoers have already seen the documentary film by Stefan Haupt dedicated to the famous expert on dying Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. It premiered in movie theatres in the German speaking part of Switzerland on January 16, 2003, and will be shown on German and Austrian movie screens.
“Elisabeth Kübler-Ross – Facing Death” produced by Fontana Film of Zurich, portrays the life course of a young Swiss medical doctor who had been confronted with death from early on and consequently devoted her entire research to an honorable way of dealing with death and dying. It is through her dedication that many taboos about dying have been transcended. In the center of this lively and touching portrait of the world-renowned pioneer are discussions with the now 77-year-old Elisabeth Kübler-Ross who lives in quiet seclusion in the Arizona desert. Interviews with her are interwoven with her two sisters (they were born as triplets), her co-workers and friends, and interesting archival sequences.

The rights for the distribution of “Elisabeth Kübler-Ross” in Germany have been purchased by Salzgeber Filmverleih, Berlin, while in Austria, it will be distributed by Polyfilm-Verleih. Worlwide distribution is handled by First Hand Films, Zurich.
