The 18th Alpe Adria Cinema Trieste Film Festival, taking place in Trieste (Italy) from January 18 – 25, 2006, is dedicating a retrospective to Fredi M. Murer featuring ten of his films, among them the child prodigy drama “Vitus”, which was launched in Switzerland precisely a year ago. The Italian audience will also get to know the work of the 66-year-old Swiss film director through a publication compiled by Paolo Vecchi, Tullio Masoni, and Domenico Lucchini, while his storyboard drawings will be shown at the festival’s main theatre. In addition, the festival presents seven productions by Swiss filmmakers and video artists.
The retrospective of Fredi M. Murer’s films is comprised of his short films “Marcel” (1962), “Sylvan” (1966), “Sad-is-Fiction” (1969), his documentary films “Bernhard Luginbühl” (1966), “Wir Bergler in den Bergen sind eigentlich nicht schuld, dass wir da sind” (1974), as well as the long feature films “Zones” (1979), “Alpine Fire” (1985), “Full Moon” (1998), and “Vitus” (2006).
