Major success for KOMIKER in Swiss cinemas
28.04.2000
Over 125,000 viewers have seen the new comedy by Markus Imboden with Beat Schlatter and Patrick Frey within just six and a half weeks after its release in the cinemas. Never before has a Swiss film sold so many admissions in such a short time.
On 9. March 2000, Vega Distribution started with 30 prints in the German-speaking part of Switzerland - also a first for a Swiss film - and a large-scale publicity campaign à la Hollywood. The result speaks for itself. The film continues to run well and still ranks among the top ten on the charts.
Meanwhile this streak has also equalled the entire number of admissions of Switzerland's most successful film in 1999, BERESINA by Daniel Schmid. KATZENDIEBE - the first film with these comedians, who are well known in Switzerland for their cabaret GÖTTERSPASS - attained 120,000 viewers within 6 months.
