“Heimatklänge” awarded in Athens

At the 13th Athens International Film Festival, which took place in the Greek capital from September 19 – 30, 2007, the Swiss documentary film “Heimatklänge” by Stefan Schwietert (Production: Maximage, Zurich) won the Golden Athena Best Music & Film Award. The director was in attendance at the event and personally accepted the prize of 10,000 Euro on September 30.
With its “Music & Film” competition, the festival caters to a majority of young viewers who are interested in discovering new musicians, unknown musical genres and chapters in music history.
The film “Heimatklänge” celebrated its premiere in Berlin in February where it also received two awards, and it took home the audience award at the “Visions du réel” festival in Nyon. The film will be released in Swiss German movie theatres on October 18 (Distribution: Look Now!).
