Gold Panda for “War Photographer” in China

At the 7th Sichuan TV Festival 2003, which took place from October 28-31 in the province’s capital Chengdou, the Swiss documentary film “War Photographer” by Christian Frei won the prize for “Best Long Documentary Film” in the “Man & Society” section. Approximately two hundred documentary films were eligible for this prize.
Since its completion in 2001, “War Photographer” has won 14 international awards. It has gained particularly strong recognition in Asia: in Japan, the film is currently enjoying a successful showing in movie theatres, and its DVD release is due shortly in both Japan and China.
