German Audio Description Prize for Alain Gsponer’s film “Das wahre Leben”

The television film “Das wahre Leben” by Swiss film director Alain Gsponer was presented the German Audio Description Prize in Berlin on March 11, 2008. The film, produced by C-Films in Zurich and the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, was nominated together with seven other productions for this prize honouring the best adaptation of a film for the visually impaired.
This year’s awarding of the German Audio Description Prize, under the patronage of the well-known German actor Mario Adorf, marks the sixth time it has been presented. The prize honours exemplary initiatives which contribute to the distribution and further development of audio description, as well as exceptional audio-described film productions. At least 150,000 blind and more than 500,000 visually impaired consumers of visual media in Germany alone benefit from such audio-described adaptations.
