Four Swiss animation films at the SICAF in Seoul

The 12th Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival (SICAF), which runs from May 21-25, 2008, in the Republic of Korea, will present four Swiss animation films. “La main de l´ours” (The Bear´s Hand) by Marina Rosset and “The Bellringer” by Dustin Rees will be featured in the graduate film competition. ”Tôt ou tard” by Jadwiga Kowalska and “haaf and me, in: swing beijing” by Oliver Aemisegger will be shown in the Panorama. The well-known Geneva-based animation film maker Georges Schwizgebel will present his fourteen masterpieces in Seoul and be a member of the jury.
In Seoul, the four selected Swiss films will continue their remarkable festival-career and will be presented at the International Animated Film Festival in Annecy. All of them are productions of the animation department of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), where the Swiss talents of tomorrow are educated.
The festival in Seoul, accepted since 2005 by the International Animated Film Association ASIFA, is next to the festival in Hiroshima one of the most important platforms for animation films in Asia. Along with the festival, the event is comprising of an exhibition, an International Digital Cartoon Competition and a film market.
