“Die Herbstzeitlosen” and “Comme des voleurs” in Palm Springs

Two Swiss films are scheduled to run in the program of the 19th Palm Springs International Film Festival, which runs from January 3 - 14, 2008. Director Bettina Oberli and the film’s leading actress Stephanie Glaser will attend the festival for the screening of “Die Herbstzeitlosen” (production: Catpics, Zurich) in the “Awards Buzz – Best Foreign Language Film” section. This section presents films submitted for an Oscar in the category of Best Foreign Language Film. In addition, Lionel Baier’s second fiction film “Comme des voleurs” (production: Saga Production, Lausanne) will be screened in the “World Cinema Now” section. As the film’s director, Baier will also be in attendance.
Bettina Oberli and Stephanie Glaser will be in Palm Springs and Los Angeles from January 4 - 11, continuing their promotion tour with regard to the nomination for an Academy Award. Lionel Baier will also attend the festival in the tourist city located just east of Los Angeles from January 4 - 8. The Swiss delegation has received support for their participation at the Palm Springs International Film Festival from SWISS FILMS and will also be accompanied by Francine Brücher, who is in charge of international promotion at SWISS FILMS.
