13.08.2007
Unlike Andrea Staka with her movie “Fraulein” in 2006, Ticino director Fulvio Bernasconi did not take home the Golden Leopard at this year’s festival event. Nevertheless, his feature film debut, which participated in the “Fuori dale corde” competition, was awarded a prize: The lead actor, Michele Ventucci, received a Leopard for Best Actor ex aequo with Michel Piccoli. In addition, in the Pardi di domani section, several awards went to Swiss short films. The Pardino d’oro, which comes with a prize sum of 10,000 Swiss Francs in the Swiss Competition section, was given to the film “René” by Tobias Nölle. His film also represented Switzerland in the international short film selection.
The short film jury, with Andrea Staka as one of its members, bestowed the Pardino d’argento, donated by Eastman Kodak and worth 6,000 Swiss Francs, to the film “Latitude 203” by Florence Guillemin, while the Action Light Prize for best new Swiss talent went to Germinal Roaux for “Icebergs”. This prize is comprised of film technical services worth 36,000 Swiss Francs. “Il neige à Marrakech” by Hicham Alhayat won a prize donated by the company “Film & Video Untertitelung Gerhard Lehmann”, which includes subtitles for the film into three Western European languages. Finally, the Cinema e Gioventù jury gave its Swiss competition prize to the film “Ménagerie intérieure” by Nadège de Benoît Luthy, and it recognized the film “The Little Samurai” by Lorenz Merz with an honorable mention.
