For almost two decades, “ZüriWest” from Berne has been one of the most successful rock bands in Switzerland. In the middle of the turbulent Eighties, when it was above all seen as a politically committed touring band, ZüriWest suddenly found itself in the limelight as a national pop phenomenon. Although the band’s continued existence was seriously in doubt two years ago when two long-standing members departed, eventually being replaced by three new musicians, its new album entitled “Radio zum Glück” shot straight to the number one spot in the Swiss hit parade. The film follows the process of creation of the new album and includes exclusive interviews in which band members describe the excitement of the early years, former companions are remembered and a number of archive photos, including some never before made public, bring back memories of the “good old days”. “ZüriWest - am Blues vorus” take a look behind the scenes and focuses not so much on the group as successful rock musicians as on the individuals who make it up, each with his own dreams.
