An art school student returns to her village in the Bernese Jura with the aim of making a portrait of one of its inhabitants, whose face, Yvan, she retains a singular memory of. She finds herself confronted by her own inhibitions, questioning her position as a filmmaker and, more broadly, the act of filming the Other.
