Buenos Aires, 1810, the revolution is in full swing, fuelled by the ideas of Rousseau. Meanwhile, thousands of kilometres away in the south of the country, a French expedition gets caught out in an ash storm, leaving a young woman alone and left to her own devices in the middle of nowhere, with adversity as her only master. But in her head, the protagonist of the film, Marie Archange, is listening to Jean-Jacques Rousseau's minuet in G minor and the melody gives her the strength to carry on.
