Der 1981 in Zürich geborene Dustin Rees wuchs in Grossbritannien auf, bevor er 1991 in die Schweiz zurückkehrte. 2007 schloss er an der HSLU (Hochschule Luzern, Design & Kunst) im Fachbereich Animation mit Auszeichnung ab. Nebst den eigenen Filmen produziert er Auftragsarbeiten und Werbeclips. Er hat als Redaktor und Editor für Fernsehsender gearbeitet, ist in Kino, Theater und Opernhaus tätig, unterrichtet an der Hochschule Luzern und leitet diverse Workshops an Schulen und Filmfestivals. Seine Filme THE BELLRINGER (2007) , BORDERLINE (2011), RANSOM (2012) und SIGNS (2020) wurden an zahlreichen renommierten internationalen Filmfestivals gezeigt und ausgezeichnet.
