Born in 1978 in Locarno, Switzerland. Laura Kaehr trained as a professional ballet dancer at the Centre de Danse Rosella Hightower, Cannes. She holds
a Master in Transdisciplinarity in Art from Zurich University of the Arts and an Advanced Certificate in Film and Screenwriting at UCLA Los Angeles. Her debut short film, 1927, premiered at Locarno’s spring event L’immagine e la Parola in 2014. Her experimental dance film NEW WORLD (2018) won Best Film at the Underexposed Film Festival. BECOMING GIULIA (2022) premiered at the Zurich Film Festival and won its Best Audience Award. She works as screenwriter, director and film choreographer.
