“Vitus” – Winner of “Augenblick” Prize in Strasburg

At the third edition of the “Augenblick-Festival” in Strasburg, France, (January 23 – February 9, 2007), “Vitus” by Fredi M. Murer (Production: Hugofilm, Zurich) won the main award with a prize sum of 2,000 Euro. With “Mein Name ist Eugen” by Michael Steiner (Production: Kontrafilm and C-Films, Zurich), and “Straehl” by Manuel Flurin Hendry (Production: Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich), two additional Swiss films were competing for the award.
The festival, which takes place in ten movie theatres in the Alsace city, is dedicating its program to German-speaking films from Germany, Austria, Luxemburg, and Switzerland, and is building bridges between the countries’ different language regions. The prize money will be used for the film’s distribution in France, which will be orchestrated by the company Océan Films in Paris.
