08.10.2009
Three short fiction films from Switzerland will be screened in the International Competition at the 25th Warsaw Film Festival (October 9-18). A total of 100 film productions will be presented in the short film section, thus in the running for the award amounting to CHF 3,600 (PLN 10,000).
The three Swiss film productions are: the 7-minute film “Les yeux de Simone” by producer/director Jean-Louis Porchet, who celebrated the world premiere of the film this past summer on the Piazza Grande in Locarno; Michael Koch’s 29-minute film “Polar”, which won an award at the Berlinale 09; and the 6-minute mocumentary “Subversive” by Fabrizio Fracassi. All films are in the 14 programmes encompassing the Shorts Competition, devoted to European short films less than 45 minutes.
The festival in the capital of Poland is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) as a film festival with specialised competitions. This year’s festival presents 100 short films and 150 feature films from 57 countries. Last year 97,000 visitors attend the festival.
