Three Swiss short films at festival in São Paulo

Georges Schwizgebel’s animation film “Retouches” and Peter Volkart’s short film “Monsieur Sélavy” have been invited to the 20th São Paulo International Short Film Festival (August 20-28, 2009). They will be screened in the "Mostra Internacional” programme, which presents 68 short films from all over the world.
In addition, Michael Koch’s 29-minute film “Polar”, which was produced at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, will be screened in a section that is devoted to German filmmaking. All three of the Swiss films productions have already been screened at numerous international festivals.
More than 1,830 films were submitted this year to the São Paulo International Short Film Festival. It ranks among the most important short film festivals in Latin America, together with the festival in Rio de Janeiro. The audience in São Paulo honoured the film “Jeu”, Georges Schwizgebel’s film in 2007, with an award.
