One feature-length and two short film productions from Switzerland will be screened in competition at the renowned 10th Tribeca Film Festival in Lower Manhattan, New York (April 20 - May 1, 2011). The feature-length documentary film “Scoala Noastra” by Mona Nicoara and Miruna Coca-Cozma, a Swiss-American coproduction, will participate in the World Documentary Competition, while the short fiction film “Down This Road” by Vinz Feller and the short animation film “Schlaf” by Duos Claudius Gentinetta and Frank Braun will participate in the Short Narrative Competition.
The festival, founded in 2002 by actor Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, offers European films a platform for gaining visibility on the American market. The festival was initiated in Lower Manhattan as a response to the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
