“The Time of the Titans” receives award

Swiss filmmaker Edgar Hagen received the ALSTOM Journalism Award for his documentary film “The Time of the Titans”. This prize of CHF 15,000 – in its second year of being awarded – was given out on September 4, 2003.
Filmed in 2001, “Time of Titans” portrays the dam constructions for the Grande Dixence power plant in the Swiss Alps. At 2,000 – 2,900 meters above sea level, 20,000 – 25,000 individuals worked for 16 years on 25 construction sites to complete the dam and the 160 kilometer-long labyrinth of tunnels combining 35 glaciers.
The ALSTOM Journalism Award honors outstanding journalistic efforts and themes with economic, social, ecological, technical, and scientific relevance for energy, energy production and transmission, and energy use. The total prize sum is CHF 25,000.
