“Terra Incognita” wins Fipa D’Or in Biarritz, and “Haru Ichiban” is awarded the CinéCinéma-Prize in Angers

The short film “Terra Incognita” by Peter Volkart (Production: Reck Filmproduktion, Zurich), which received the 2006 Swiss Film Prize, won the Fipa d’Or for Best Short Film at the festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels in Biarritz on January 28. On the same day, the Swiss short film, “Haru Ichiban – Spring Storm” by Aya Domenig, a diploma film for the Zurich School of Art and Design, was awarded the Prix CinéCinéma at the festival Premiers Plan in Angers, which includes the broadcast of the movie in French television.
“Terra Incognita” had already received two recognitions in Italy last weekend: It won the Special Prize for Fiction Film at the Festival Internazionale del Cortometraggio in Siena, and received a nomination for the Méliès d’Or at the festival Scienceplusfiction in Trieste. This prize will be announced at the Espoo Ciné International Film Festival in Finnland, in August 2006. “Terra Incognita” and “Haru Ichiban” are presently both part of the competition at the 28th Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the worldwide largest event for this genre.
