The Swiss producer and six-time Oscar winner has died

His Oscar-winning films include Ettore Scola's adaptation of the novel IL GIARDINO DEI FINZI-CONTINI (THE GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS), which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film for Italy in 1971.
Cohn's Swiss-French co-production DANGEROUS MOVES (LA DIAGONALE DU FOU) by Richard Dembo, starring Michel Piccoli and Liv Uhlmann, won an Oscar for Switzerland in 1984, also in the category of Best Foreign Language Film.
With ONE DAY IN SEPTEMBER by Kevin Macdonald, he won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1999. Numerous other awards testify to Cohn's international success as a producer. Arthur Cohn passed away on December 12, 2025, in Jerusalem at the age of 98.
