Stephanie Glaser is this year’s winner of the 2006 SwissAward. The prize goes to five outstanding individuals from politics, culture, business, entertainment, and society, who made an impact or had a significant achievement in the past year. An academy of 100 influential individuals from Switzerland identify the winners, and prizes are bestowed at the SwissAward Gala at the Zurich Hallenstadium on January 13, 2007.
In the film “Late Bloomers”, Stephanie Glaser, who is the grand dame of Swiss comedy, plays the 80-year-old seamstress Martha who fulfills her dream of opening a lingerie boutique in the rural Swiss Emmental region. She has been nominated for the 2007 Swiss Film Prize (“Best Performance in a Leading Role”), which will be bestowed in Solothurn on January 24, 2007. With approximately 400,000 tickets sold, “Late Bloomers” is the Swiss movie hit of 2006.
