Swiss short film in San Sebastian

The only Swiss film to be shown at the 57th San Sebastian International Film Festival (held between 18 and 26 September 2009) is the short documentary film entitled «Nid hei cho» by Thaïs Odermatt which will be shown on 25 September as part of the 8th International Film School Meeting. The «School Film Programme» - reserved exclusively for films made by schools – is screening this film which was made in the Video course at Lucerne’s College of Art and Design. It is one of 16 films selected from the 175 entries which are competing for the Best School Film prize.
The young director is participating in the film festival in the Basque country, where she is presenting her film about poachers. She is accompanied by Professor Edith Flückiger, who is responsible for the Video course at Lucerne’s College of Art and Design. SWISS FILMS supports the presence of the film-maker in San Sebastian.
This year, 16 film schools from 12 countries are participating in the Film School Meeting, which is being held between 23 and 25 September. This meeting offers participants the chance to swop experiences, to establish an international network and to present the graduates’ films.
