Six Swiss film productions and coproductions are on the programme of the 34th Göteborg International Film Festival (January 28 - February 7, 2011), the largest film festival in Scandinavia. Jean-Stéphane Bron’s documentary film “Cleveland Versus Wall Street” will be screened in the Critics’ Week section and is thus in the running for the FIPRESCI Award. This award in Göteborg is presented to non-Scandinavian film productions.
The festival programme in Sweden encompasses a broad spectrum, including such film highlights of the previous year as: the feature films "Pepperminta" by Pipilotti Rist as well as the Swiss coproduction "Aurora" by Rumanian director Cristi Puiu. Furthermore, the following documentary films, together with "Cleveland Versus Wall Street", contribute to the particularly strong presence of Swiss documentary filmmaking at the festival: Kaleo La Belle's "Beyond This Place"; "Daniel Schmid - Le chat qui pense" by Benny Jaberg and Pascal Hofmann; and "David Wants To Fly" by David Sieveking.
